Dita Von Teese insists that the French appreciate burlesque as an art form instead of a racy routine and is looking forward to starting her two week residence at Paris’ most famous nude revue.

Through Valentine’s Day Dita, whose famous routines include using larger-than-life martini glasses and carousel horses, will strut her stuff at the Crazy Horse venue and she says she can’t wait to return to the city of love, because her fellow Americans have forgotten that her performances are entertainment and not just strip-shows.

She says:

“I’m just trying to bring back the original art form. Unfortunately it seems that now in America they’ve lost all sense of what burlesque really is. It’s just something very racy for them. It’s not like in France where they still remember names like Mistinguett and Josephine Baker. In America they’ve completely forgotten this and have a hard time coming to terms with the idea that striptease could’ve been a form of classic entertainment. I like coming here to be appreciated.”

Lindsay Lohan recreates Marilyn Monroe's famous and very revealing "Last Sitting" photographs for the new issue of New York magazine.

No stranger to scandal herself, the thrice-rehabbed Lohan calls Monroe’s suicide “tragic” and remarks to the mag, “You know, it’s also tragic what just recently happened to someone else.” When asked if she’s referring to Heath Ledger she says, “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.” She is adamant, however, that she will not meet a similar fate, saying, “…I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me.”

The former Friends star admits she's horrified when she looks in her rear-view mirror and sees gangs of ruthless paparazzi trying to track her down—using any means necessary.

She reveals, "They're just so reckless. If I drive really slowly and watch what's happening behind me, these men are driving on sidewalks, they're cutting through intersections. It's very weird.

"Now they are hiring gang members. It's a whole new breed. There's this whole new photo agency that's been started... and they are basically hiring retired gangsters.

"They're told they just need to shoot a picture. They don't have to have any photography school. They just have to know how to be aggressive and scare the s**t out of people and get the picture."

In other paparazzi news, movie icon Shirley MacLaine is keen to expose the Hollywood restaurants that encourage staff to tip of the paparazzi when celebrity diners arrive.

The actress has launched an investigation to find out how much waiters and bar staff at certain Hollywood hotspots get paid for calling in tips about stars.

MacLaine admits she's horrified by the media's interest in modern movie stars, and she feels it's time to expose the people who make their lives a misery.

She says, "These restaurants, particularly in Malibu, they (tipsters) get $600 a call.

"I did my little investigation, and that's what they get. They do the call if Britney Spears and the dancer (Kevin Federline) show up."

Hilton encouraged the young pop star to try & cooperate with the paparazzi & not antagonize them (with your crotch). The hotel heiress & general all-around, do-gooder claims she sympathizes with Spears’ plight with the media, but that the best way to handle the stick-to-you-like-glue photographers is to not get a gun, but to smile & work with them.

Let’s let Paris explain, “(The paparazzi) annoy me, too.

“I can understand going to a press event or a premiere that’s fine, they’re there, but when they’re waiting outside your home every morning and following you around every single day it’s hard.

“I’d rather them just take pictures at events, not at my house.
